Winds of Change...literally

In the spirit of the holiday, I decided to design my own list of New Years Resolutions, one in keeping with my quest to live more sustainably. Here they are, in no particular order:

1. Buy locally grown/produced products and buy more seasonably.
2. Depend less on store bought cleaning products. Make my own from natural, non chemical sources.
3. Decrease my average kilowatt per hour (kph) usage by at least 50 kph.
4. Decrease my waste output by a factor of one (one garbage bag per week, in laymans terms).
5. Recycle less, reduce more.
6. Spend less time at home consuming, more time outside being active.
7. Compost smarter.
8. Conserve water usage.
9. Hydrate myself with H2O more often instead of juice, soda, any other beverage that comes in a can or plastic bottle.
10. Research alternate energy sources.
11. When purchasing home or clothing, opt for renewable, organic fabrics and sustainable woods, and low chemical paints/stains.

In a completely unrelated note, I've started trying to revamp our grocery shopping. I've already decided this is going to require more effort on our part than buying organic. Our current shopping center offers little in the way of locally grown produce/meats. However, I was able to locate these:

We've searched for these for ages! We had found dimmable CFL's at Target, unfortunately the wattage was incorrect and they didn't have the wattage we needed. And in really great news, these were buy one, get one. I really heart me a bargain. ;)
